Weichert Workforce Mobility is hiring a Senior Domestic Tax Services and Reporting Specialist in Parsippany, NJ. This is a hybrid role requiring two days in the Parsippany office. The Senior Domestic Tax Services and Reporting Specialist is responsible for processing client taxable and/or reportable relocation expenses to the client’s payroll department. The position maintains a client base of approximately twenty five (25) clients and provides all services and support related to the tax reporting process. The position also conducts comprehensive tax analysis on client and transferee level detail.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Updates and maintains all client files including schedules, audits, diagnostics, reconciliations, and reporting files.
- Prepares client gross-up processing, files, and all related supporting documentation.
- Processes interim files for client base by preparing wage requests and importing and processing returned wage requests. Prepares gross up transmittal including all audit and diagnostic review.
- Processes year-end files for client base by confirming processing. Prepares year-end projection request and imports and processes returned projections. Prepares gross up transmittal including all audit and diagnostic reviews, in addition to year-to-date reconciliation.
- Assists in conducting file transmission testing with client payroll departments.
- Conducts comprehensive processing, tax, and reporting analysis on client and transferee level detail.
- Provides management with process improvement recommendations and assists management with bringing recommendations to fruition.
- Assists in testing new tax updates to the tax module including parallel testing.
- Participates in a rotational schedule to support the tax help phone line and tax help inbox. Assists transferees with relocation tax reporting and gross up questions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting strongly preferred
- Three (3) to five (5) years of payroll or tax gross up processing experience preferred
- Thorough understanding of gross-up processing, personal income taxation, and related tax compliance issues
- Thorough understanding of payroll data exchange including usage of FTP servers
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work within strict deadlines
- Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products including a comprehensive understanding of Excel
- Ability to generate reports and spreadsheets in Excel
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Strong attention to detail
